Lisa Price — Creative Visionary, Choreographer, Director, Producer

& Deviant Studio Owner

Lisa Price is the driving force behind Thinning of the Veil. As a director, producer, installation artist, and choreographer, Price creates environments where the boundaries between audience and performer dissolve. Her work lives at the crossroads of theatre and fine art, weaving narrative through movement, visual composition, and emotional atmosphere.

With a background that bridges dance, theater, and visual art, Price’s creative direction is both hauntingly intimate and visually grand. This fourth iteration of Thinning of the Veil stands as her most ambitious work to date.

Lisa’s Background:

Born and bred in New York, Lisa Price has been gracing stages with her fierce style for over 30 years. Lisa started dancing competitively at an early age and spread her dance roots through many New York City studios. Broadway Dance Center was her studio of choice to discover her deep systemic connection with movement. Her focus ranged from Jazz & Hip Hop to Afro-Haitian and various other theatrical disciplines. Lisa developed an even deeper love for the stage while studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City and at the Philadelphia School of Visual Arts. Into adulthood, Lisa continued her relationship with stage & film as a freelance performer and costume designer. Before moving to Central New York, Lisa was employed by Second Stage Theater in New York City, where she worked as a wardrobe supervisor.

In 2015, Lisa moved to Central New York and found purpose in contributing to the ever-growing adult dance community. Fueled by her deep-rooted passion for dance, Lisa created Deviant, a now locally recognized adult dance brand. The Deviant community that she created allows everyday individuals to explore and reclaim their passion for movement, connect with others, and unleash their creativity in a supportive and empowering environment.
